More than a hundred of us woke up before our normal alarms and skipped our normal routes to work. We came early and stayed for two days to hear the wisdom of his 80 gathered years, most of which were spent pursuing A Long Obedience In The Same Direction. In a brown fleece vest and brown slacks and clean loafers, he climbed the short stairs to the stage. The Pastor sat beside Gabe and shared his years of accumulated humility.

Eight sessions in two days is far too short a time to plumb the depths of a mature pastor. Nonetheless, Eugene Peterson wasted no time in sharing his ministry failures and his false expectations, honoring his lay mentors and pastoral heroes, sharing stories and practical tips of practicing sabbath, simplicity and prayer, as well as recommending some of his favorite authors.

Carved out of the bustle of NYC, this two-day Q Session was tailored so that each participant could soak in tested wisdom, pause in quiet reflection, and learn practical tips to cultivate their inner lives. Because the content is so rich, we made it available for free via two different live streams.
