Henry Petroski, is a professor of civil engineering and history at Duke University. He is author of more than a dozen books including, To Engineer is Human: The Role of Failure in Successful Design. Dr. Petroski holds a PhD in theoretical and applied mechanics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
