Ted Sangalis

Ted Sangalis is a J.D. student at Fordham Law School. Prior to attending law school, he received his B.F.A. in Theatre from New York University and worked as an actor for a few years. He now works closely with advocates in New York City toward the modest goal of eradicating sex trafficking. His comment, Elusive Empowerment: Compensating the Sex Trafficked Person Under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, was published in Vol 80 of the Fordham Law Review.

Sex Trafficking is Closer Than You Think

A common misbelief about sex trafficking is that the United States is only a destination country, that all of the victims of sex slavery within the U.S. have been carried across international borders. The truth is that literally untold numbers of U.S. citizens are trafficked within our own borders and in our neighborhoods every year.
