Loved this talk. The insight in it for me was that "religion" is not only part of the fabric of culture, but it offers a door--sometimes hidden but available none the less, to transcend culture. This is powerful! We can have insights that allow us to SEE the effect of culture on us, but to radically just DO and BE "something else," that's very different. Many people struggle to resist culture in an odd way: They end up doing exactly what culture mandates for them. "Oh, I want to do something uniquely my own, so I'll get a tattoo." If we try to step beyond THAT... to grasp for an utterly different means of expression, where do we go? A connection with God brings us to be who and what we seek to be.

love the talk...good way to describe servant leadership and culture

however as a person who is close to the flooring business, your example falls short...no worries, but engineered flooring is actually superior product in some cases, it creates more stability...the product is not substandard, a better example would be laminate flooring...just saying:)
